The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences hosted its new graduate student orientation on Wednesday, September 16th from 11:45am to 5pm with an evening dinner.

Preparation Materials
In order to help you prepare for starting graduate study at Northwestern, we have some suggested materials for you to look over:
- Preparation for Graduate Studies Information Sheet (.doc)
- Linear Equation Systems (.pdf)
- Covariance and Correlation as Measures of Associations (.pdf)
You will also be required (if criteria is met) to apply for a NSF Graduate Fellowship during each of your first two years at Northwestern (unless you already have external funding). You will work on this with your adviser (to be assigned). Please read the following document (note: it is from the previous year and will be updated as NSF updates application information):
